Welcome to the Weitz lab!
We investigate the fundamental electronic properties novel of nanoscopic systems such as 2D-materials (graphene etc.) and organic semiconductors. These materials are a versatile playground to study basic quantum phenomena and are of interest for energy harvesting and large-area flexible electronics. We study their properties via a combination of electrical, optical and morphological investigations and aim to gain a detailed understanding of how small deterministic changes to the systems of interest, as for example introduced by electric or magnetic fields, adsorption of molecules or the breaking of varies symmetries can influence the overall behavior of the electronic and quantum transport phenomena.
